AHA Rallies sound like fun
An AHA Rally is where America’s professional and amateur craft brewers get together to talk beer and brewing. “The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) is really trying to create an experience for the AHA member by pairing up homebrewers with craft brewers. It gives them the opportunity to share their passion for beer. Rallies allow our members to have a day to enjoy a local brewery, some beers, snacks, good conversations and meet some new friends,†according to Kathryn Porter, Membership Coordinator for the AHA. “Last year 1,300 Beer Enthusiasts turned out for AHA Rallies around the Nation.”
A rally often includes a VIP brewery tour, beer samples, door prizes, appetizers and a chance to meet the owners and brewers. Rallies are free for AHA members to attend. Non-members have to join the AHA at the door to participate in all the fun.
Upcoming AHA Rallies include: Boulder Beer Co. (Boulder, CO), Badaboomz Ale House & Grill (Indianapolis, IN), and Raccoon River Brewing Co. (Des Moines, IA). Totaling 23 rallies by the end of the year, January 2008 will be the beginning of the third year of AHA Rallies with several rallies already scheduled
