   Thank you for mentioning the 3 Belgian Beer pubs in the Bay area! Another Belgian Beer pilgrimage to consider if you are going to the East Coast is a trip to Monk’s Cafe at 264 S. 16th Street [corner of 16th & Spruce] in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Phone: (215) 545-7005. They have up to 2 dozen Belgian beers On Tap, some 50 different Belgian bottled beers, And 150 other beers from around the world!!!!

   For those who want to get deeper into the vat on this Belgian stuff before the Appreciation Class at LaTrappe on March 22, there is a website http://www.brewlikeamonk.com/ that covers all things re Belgian beer and has a book showing you how to brew your own Belgian style beer!!!

   Thanks very much John and Motor for what you guys do here and in the TBN forums. Oh and especially for the recent Belgian show with Stu. He mentioned Pannepot by De Struise on that show and they are soon coming to Portland Maine here where I live. They are supposedly opening an upscale Belgian beer bar here called Cafe Pannepot. I did a review recently of it on my blog. Homepage addy is in my profile. Stu was right, GREAT beer from De Struise. Keep up the good work.

   Hi John, Motor,

   I’m in the UK and I really enjoy your shows. Despite being a 30 something, I only started appreciating (with a capital “A”) beer since last year and your show has been of great help so far.

   I’m a big fan of Belgian and Czech beers, but not so much of German “pure” style. On the other hand I know very little about North-American beers, and having just sampled a couple of the Anchor offerings (Steam and Liberty) I was rather positively surprised.

   I know your primary audience is in the US, but would it be possible at any point to do a show targeting non-US listeners pointing out the best (in your opinion) beers being exported from the US?

   In the UK the most available stuff is Bud, Coors and Millers, but some supermarkets are already carrying Sierra Nevada and Anchor Steam.

   What else should we be looking out for?

   I haven’t listened to all your previous shows. Have you discussed already world beers that are not from Western Europe or the US? I’m thinking of Eastern European, Asian and South American stuff…
