The beginning of the year means the arrival of hop rhizomes. These are the beginning roots of a hop plant which grows as a vine up to 25 feet during the season. A rhizome is genetically identical to the plant it came from. At the end of the season the plant will die but the rhizome will live on. If you make it to the Bistro you can buy your own rhizomes to grow.
