the question of why isn’t the world covered in grey goo get is just one that we ask our guest who has a nickname. Thor joins us to talk about Yeast and Homebrewing.

what was on my list of topics: take over, brewery has “1″ yeast, how long does that take. sourdough bread is an example. who discovered yeast. what was the thinking before that. number of known species.

the homework:
get a package of yeast, prepare it then watch it grow. note how it starts off slow, goes wild then eventually dies off.

check out Thor’s brew system aka robo brewer.

the homework is beer but it takes your money to fund the research required to find the next topic.

your homework is just what I do for my fish tank! Since co2 injection is great for the plants in an aquarium I take about a 1/4 tsp of bread yeast and 1/2 cup of sugar and put it in a 1 liter soda bottle. Then I fill it about 1/2 full with warm water. In the cap I installed a small tube that goes into the tank so when the CO2 starts to form it bubbles into the water and feeds the plants
