Prohibition forced brewing back into the home enabled by parts available from the location five and dime. While Motor and I are not officially brewing, we’ve brewed before. We tackle the tough questions about getting starting in the craft of brewing.

Homework:
There is no official homework this week. But if you are so inclined you might consider brewing some beer. There are many beer kits but the Mr. Beer is the simplest, cheapest and comes with everything you need. Order one up and brew a batch. Or just download the step-by-step instructions and read about the process of this stove top compatible experiment.

http://www.les-brasseurs.ch/ for some “home brewed” beer in Switzerland. They produce seeasonal beer according to the time of year. Same thing in your part of the world? When you’re in the bars you’re sitting right next to the giant vats. Occasionaly it stinks because they’ve just finished the production process.

In one of them you have pictures of the traditional brewing process with the beer casques and the horse drawn carriages to transport the beer.

Not sure about other brewers around here.
