It has been six month since we started Beer School. It’s time to restate the goals of the class. The entire text of the syllabus can be found here. We talk about how some things have to be reassuringly expensive.

Be sure to read fakesteve.blogspot.com everyday.

The burrito tunnel!

BJCP study guide and BJCP off flavor and style flash cards.

Three Sheets to the Wind by Pete Brown is a great read.

Homework:
Tell us what beer is in your local neighbor hood store.

Beer: Sierra Nevada Pale, Anchor Liberty Ale, Anchor Steam, Lagunitas IPA.

John and Motor, I would just like to thank you for your wonderful show. On a whim, I found your podcast through iTunes, and it’s opened up a whole new world for me. Through you guys, I’ve learned about many different styles of beer, and the wonders of homebrew, via your podcast with Justin from the Brewing Network. I’m now homebrewing and loving it, thanks to you. Keep up the good work, and I’m looking forward to many more sessions of Beer School in the future! Cheers!

Love the show. Our tastes seem to be similar. I’m not going to exhaust a list our pitiful beer selection, but I will say that it sucks compared to what I grew up with in Michigan. Though I have noticed the selection has improved in the past year. Not sure why that is.

I live in Fort Lauderdale Florida.

    Great show, guys.

I’m kinda amazed by how many of the beers Motor’s listed in his nearest corner market are available in off-licences (what we call liquor stores) and bars here in Galway, in the West Of Ireland - even my local (Sheridan’s) has Sierra Nevada (Pale Ale and the IPA), Anchor Steam, and a bunch of good worldwide beers!

Got Sam Adams Summer Ale over the weekend - very nice, and quite cheap considering (US$1.90 each/355ml bottle)

    Keep up the good work…
